Morocco has bought French UAVs that are based on an Israeli design. Morocco will purchase at least three French Harfangs, which are based on Israel's Heron medium-altitude long-endurance UAV, according to news site Worldtribune.com, which in turn cited farmorocco.com, a site that reports on the Moroccan military.
The contract was reportedly signed between Morocco and Dassault in March 2013, with the Harfangs delivered the following month. Morocco also ordered electro-optical sensors, data link and communications equipment.
The Moroccan Air Force’s assets in 2013 included three Herons and four U.S.-made Predator XP drones, according to the Worldtribune.com report.
